Soutěž 2021 - na podzim proběhne na UK další kolo soutěže Science Slam

Proč se účastnit

Soutěž Science Slam je skvělá možnost jak zviditelnit sebe a svůj výzkum nebo projekt, otevírá dveře do komunity vědeckých popularizátorů, posiluje dovednosti a schopnosti vystupovat a prezentovat, umožňuje reprezentovat univerzitu na domácím i zahraničním poli a v neposlední řadě je skvělou příležitostí popularizovat vědu obecně.

Pravidla

1. Prezentující je student/ka UK (jakákoliv forma studia, jakýkoliv ročník)

2. Prezentace nepřesáhne 4 minuty.

3. Prezentující vystupují v kategoriích:

- stand-up (mluvené slovo)

- rhyme stand-up (báseň, píseň, rap)

4. Prezentující mohou vystupovat jako jednotlivci nebo dvojice

5. Prezentující jazyk je čeština, slovenština nebo angličtina

6. Je možné mít s sebou pomůcky, nikoliv však audiovizuální techniku (ppt prezentace, reprodukovaný zvuk, počítač atp.)

7. Proti výsledku hlasování není odvolání.

8. V případě nepříznivé epidemiologické situace se soutěž uskuteční pomocí předem nahraných videí.

9. Doporučujeme všem, kdo zvažují účast, připravit si příspěvek i v anglickém jazyce pro případ účasti v mezinárodní soutěži (je možné vystupovat např. v kategorii „rhyme stand-up“ a v anglickém jazyce hovořit v základní kategorii)

Po celou dobu semestru je možnost domluvit individuální koučink v českém anebo anglickém jazyce.

Jak se přihlásit

Přihlaste se pomocí e-mailu „scienceslam@cuni.cz”: uveďte název svého příspěvku a jeho stručnou anotaci, kategorii, do které se hlásíte, ročník a program studia; dále uveďte, zda máte zájem využít koučinku k dopilování vašeho vystoupení; čas a místo koučinku dohodneme individuálně

Soutěž

Soutěž se koná v 1.11.2021 od 17h v Kampusu Hybernská, Praha 1 a navazuje exhibičním vystoupením vítěze/ů na akci pro veřejnost Informační den UK na PF UK dne 13.11. O dalších exhibicích v rámci akcí RUK UK budou vítězové včas informováni.

Porota

Sestává z laického obecenstva a odborné poroty. Veřejnost určí vítěze v tajném hlasování. Odborná porota slovně zhodnotí na místě výkony každého vystupujícího a poté určí vítěze v každé kategorii. Na základě výsledků hlasování obecenstva a poroty (každý má 1 hlas) se určí absolutní vítěz.

Věcné ceny RUK, finanční odměna.

COMPETITIONS 2021

Why should you participate in Science Slam?

Science Slam is a great opportunity to make yourself and your research or project visible. It opens the door to the community of popular science and academic research, strengthens your skills and abilities relating to performance and presentation, allows you to represent the university at home and abroad, and last but not least, it is a great opportunity to popularize science and research in general.

Rules

1. Presenters are students of Charles University (any form of study, in any year of study).

2. Presentations must not exceed 4 minutes.

3. Presenter select from the following presentation categories:

- stand-up comedy format

- rhyme stand-up comedy format (poem, song, rap).

4. Presenters may present solo or as a duet.

5. The language of the presentation may be Czech, Slovak, or English.

6. Presenters may have aids or props with them, but not audio-visual technology (such as PowerPoint presentations, recorded sound, computers, etc.).

7. No appeals may be made against the voting results.

8. In the event of an unfavourable epidemiological situation, the competition will take place using pre-recorded videos.

9. We recommend to everyone who would like to present their work in Science Slam to also prepare their contribution in English in the event of participating in the international competition (e.g. you can perform in the “rhyme stand-up” category and speak English in the basic category).

You can arrange individual couching in Czech or English during the entire semester.

How to register for Science Slam

You can register for the Science Slam competition by using the e-mail address “scienceslam@cuni.cz”: State the title of your contribution and a short description, the presentation category you are registering for, and your year and programme of study. Please also indicate whether you would like to take advantage of couching for practising your presentation. The time and place of the couching will be arranged individually.

Competition

The Science Slam competition will take on 1 November 2021 at 5 p.m., Kampus Hybernská, Prague 1 and will be followed by a presentation of the winner’s contribution at Charles University’s Information Day at the Faculty of Law on 13 November. The winners will be informed in time about other exhibitions as a part of events organized by the Rector’s Office of Charles University.

Panel of Judges

The panel of judges is made up of the general public and an expert panel. The public will determine the winner by secret ballot. The expert panel will verbally evaluate the performances of each presenter on the spot and then determine the winner for each category. The absolute winner will be determined based on the results of the voting of the general public and the expert panel (each has one vote).
