Science Slam is a new project of Charles University. It is a chance to come face to face with the real scientists introducing their latest discoveries and research projects in an invigorating and fascinating way.
The contestants are asked to become stand-up comedians because this popular format of a show helps present their ideas and passion for science. The jury is the audience!
It is also a chance to meet your friends, colleagues and other interesting people, have fun, have a chat and find out more about new topics, possibly even make new contacts and establish new cooperation.
The winner will take part in higher inter-university rounds and other promotional events all around this country. Come and help us make the science more attractive!
To give a 6-minute presentation showcasing their own research or scientific project.
To have the ability to explain in short complex issues clearly, simply, and in a funny way to a non-expert audience.
To be creative when using simple tools, gadgets and props in their presentations. Audio-visual equipment is not allowed.
To be open to new ideas, to be willing to listen, and have a laugh.
To be honest and fair when assessing contestants´ performances.
The ability to assess how clearly you understood the given topic, how much fun you had, and what was your overall impression of each presentation.
